All about me:

Hi, my name’s Paula Every and I live near Launceston, North Cornwall. I am married with three children aged 20, 18 and 9 and have been teaching music and drama now for 28 years. Following my degree I began teaching music to secondary pupils in South London and stayed at Bishop Thomas Grant School in Streatham for 5 years. I then found my dream job in Croydon at Rockmount Infant and Junior School – the School had failed it’s ofsted for music and had funding to bring in a qualified music teacher, to teach the staff how to teach music. Sadly they only had funding for 18 months, but it made me realise that I much preferred working with the younger children.
Having met my husband, we then moved to Oxfordshire where I continued to teach music in Donnington Middle School, Oxford. It was while I was pregnant with my first child that I decided I would like to start my own music teaching business ‘Sing & Play’ – teaching music to 0 – 5’s. It worked well for me as I could bring along my own young children, and it also gave me huge enjoyment watching as the babies imitated so much so quickly, toddlers learnt to sing in tune by the age of three and pre-schoolers learnt to ‘sing & play’ with such confidence.
Then, in 2003 we moved to Cornwall where ‘Sing & Play’ continued with great success and I also got a job teaching music at St.Minver Primary School where I taught for 10 years. I began as musical director at Avalon Youth Theatre in 2005 and also took over as chair person in 2007. I have also taught at St.Mabyn School, St.Teath Pre School and at Wiggles Nursery but sadly music is seen as a luxury these days and these places just can't afford it any more.
We have recently to Coads Green and are renovating an 18th century farmhouse. I also spend alot of time at Sterts Theatre in Upton Cross, where i like to perform in atleast one of their in house shows each season.
All 'Sing and Play' classes are in term time only. If for some reason a class has to be cancelled, I will post the news on this website and on the Sing and Play facebook page.  Please also check the ‘Sing & Play’ News for updates and like my ‘Sing & Play’ facebook page to stay in touch.
Thank you for reading – if you need any further information please do not hesitate to contact me by e mailing or through messenger on the Sing and Play facebook page.
